AN 87-YEAR-OLD man has been charged following the death of a pensioner hit by a car in Theydon Bois.
The man, who is from Abridge, faces a charge of causing death by dangerous driving in connection with the incident on January 17.
Pedestrian Ambrose Skingle, 86, was knocked down by a red Fiat in Coppice Row. He was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, where he died on February 13.
The man, who was arrested following the collision and voluntarily surrendered his licence, has also been charged with making a false statement to obtain a driving licence.
He has been released on police bail and will appear before Chelmsford Magistrates Court on August 15.
