THREE days of Remembrance events began today.

There were Armistice Day services outside Redbridge Town Hall in Ilford and at the Garden of Remembrance in Snaresbrook.

The Mayor joined council leader Keith Prince at the Town Hall.

In Snaresbrook, Deputy Mayor Felicity Banks joined members of the Wanstead & Woodford British Legion.

The Reverend Liz Horwell of Christ Church in Wanstead also paid her respects at the ceremony.

She said: β€œIt is tremendously important that people of all generations recognise what a sacrifice people have made so that our country can live in freedom.”

Rev Horwell will lead prayers at the Remembrance Service at the War Memorial in Wanstead this Sunday.
