POLICE arrested four people and seized 23 uninsured vehicles during a borough-wide crackdown on vehicle offences.

A total of 411 vehicles were stopped during the operation, codenamed Cubo, which took place on January 12.

One of the four arrests was made when a suspected shoplifter ran out of a shop and straight into a group of 15 officers conducting a vehicle check.

The other three arrests were made for driving while disqualified, possession of drugs with intent to supply, and going equipped to steal.

Police also issued a number of warnings for possession of cannabis and conducted 91 stop and search operations.
