TWO men who took part in the August riots in Ilford have been jailed.

Alex James, 29, of Bentry Road, Dagenham, and Libin Osman, 21, of Westacott Close, Islington, pleaded guilty to burglary after they were caught on CCTV helping themselves to goods from a grocery shop on Ilford Lane on August 9.

The pair were part of a gang of looters who forced their way into S.N. Food and Wine, stealing what they could while the shop’s terrified owner fled the premises via a fire escape.

The pair were sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court on January 13.

James was sentenced to 28 months in prison. Osman was sentenced to 30 months.
