Spurs are considering a club record bid for Porto's Colombian striker Jackson Martinez.
Martinez enjoyed a sparkling campaign for the Portugese champions, scoring 29 goals in 38 appearances and is believed to have a price tag of at least £25m on his head.
The 26-year-old is keen on a move to one of Europe's top leagues but Porto are hard bargainers and having already sold Joao Moutinho to Monaco for a large fee, are not desperate to sell.
Spurs may look to offload players to raise funds for the move. Emmanuel Adebayor, Jermain Defoe, Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Tom Huddlestone, Scott Parker and Jake Livermore will all be let go for the right price.
