Buckhurst Hill smashed South Woodford by 91 runs to move third in the Essex Premier Division table.
The decision looked a good one as openers Russell Beckett and Todd Astle piled on the runs. The first wicket partnership was finally ended with the score on 104 when Todd Astle was given out LBW for a well made 52.
Skipper Russell Beckett continued to dominate scoring 77, including 11 fours and two sixes. The middle order managed to keep the scoreboard ticking over and got the home team to 212 for five, before Josh Peters and Jamie Allen came together.
Josh Peters was watchful on his way to yet another 50 but it was Jamie Allen who impressed the crowd with a scintillating 47 off just 27 balls. Hill declared on 291 for six, with the pick of South's bowlers being Nick Browne and Hamza Ikram both picking up two wickets apiece.
Hills' opening bowlers bowled well with no reward on a pitch with little pace. Young Sam Sulllivan, in his first year of playing first team cricket took two wickets, but it was all-rounder Astle who stole the show with a match winning seven for 56.
Their middle order showed some resistance with Pratik Acharya top scoring on 47 and Jake McMullen (31) and Harry Shirt (27 not out) playing useful knocks. But it was in vain as Woodford stumbled to a 91-run defeat.
Buckhurst Hill Seconds lost to Chingford in the Seconds Division One by 132 runs.
Chingford won the toss and chose to bat first, scoring a total of 232 for eight, with impressive batting performances from Mark Fletcher and James Hill, who scored 86 and 42 respectively. Sandeep Singh bowled particularly well for the Hill, taking five for 55. In reply Buckhurst Hill were all out for 100 in 36.4 overs.
Buckhurst Hill Thirds were held at home to Wanstead in Division Two.
Wanstead scored 243 for seven declared with the highlight Barney Mead's 90. In reply, Hill ran out of time as they scored a total of 215 for seven with good contributions from David Rofe (65 not out), Ash Mohammed (50) and Shaid Mohammed (47).
Buckhurst Hill Fourths beat Upminster by eight wickets.
Upminster batted first and were dismissed for 133 with Tahir Afzal taking four for 24, and Nickesh Patel and Ishan Kapur taking two wickets each.
Buckhurst Hill batted superbly to polish off the runs in 22 overs for the loss of just two wickets with Ashley Brand scoring a scorching 75 and Chris Mitchell a solid 38 not out.
