Gunners legend would love to manage Arsenal

ARSENAL legend Tony Adams has revealed his desire to manage his beloved Gunners in the future.

The former skipper, who guided the club to one of its most successful periods on the pitch, would love one day to take charge at the Emirates Adams, who spent 22 years with the north Londoners as a player, 18 of which included first team action, was speaking at an England fans' forum hosted by international team sponsors Nationwide Building Society.

In fact the ex-England international claimed he would have quit his job as Portsmouth assistant manager, had a post come up at Arsenal.

"Arsene won't move over will he?!" joked Adams. "I keep saying to him: 'When are you going to move over and let me have a bash?'

"But, at the moment, he still seems to be enjoying himself although, one day [maybe]."

For now Adams is just happy to carry on his work with Harry Redknapp at Fratton Park after an unsuccessful spell in charge of League Two outfit Wycombe.

"I'm alright," he added. "Nothing became available in the summer that I wanted a go at or that wanted me is the main thing.

"No-one came and sought my employment.

"Harry did, and Peter Storrie, and Portsmouth. They wanted me to help out for another year and I said 'great, not a problem'.

"It keeps me out of the house!"
