West Ham United target Bafetimbi Gomis has confirmed on Twitter he will not be leaving Swansea City during this transfer window.

The Swans rejected a £7 million offer from the Hammers for the 29-year-old French International earlier today and in a series of tweets the former Lyon player quashed any rumours of his imminent departure.

“I have decided to stay with Swansea. I wanted to share this with you before the end of the transfer window. It's the best choice for me,” he said.

“Even if I was sad before because I didn't play a lot. Now everything is different. I believe in this team and his project.

“I have spoken with the coach and I have his confidence and he has mine. I am lucky to play for Swansea.”
