A festival this weekend will tackle the subjects that matter most to women and girls across the world today.
The tenth annual Women of the World Festival returns to the Southbank Centre from Friday, March 6, to Sunday, March 8, with an inspiring line-up of speakers, activists and performers.
Ticketed events include an evening to mark 30 years since the publication of Naomi Wolf’s The Beauty Myth, Sandi Toksvig meeting her personal heroes to discover their journey to the top, and a panel of leading thinkers on solutions to the climate emergency.
WOW Festival goers can also purchase day passes for Friday and Saturday to explore a programme of talks, workshops and performances on subjects including domestic abuse, women in working class industries and mental health.
Guests include Scarlett Curtis (the Guilty Feminist), Booker Prize-nominated author Elif Shafak, the first female Prime Minister of Australia Julia Gillard, entrepreneur Heroda Berhane, and many more.
Jude Kelly CBE, Founder and Director of The WOW Foundation, said: “Fearless, inspirational, dogged, hilarious, modest… words I use to describe the brilliant women and girls featuring in our 10th anniversary festival. The WOW global community expands daily and it’s a joy to be part of a movement that reminds us of the power unleashed by working together.”
