YOUNG dancers made a splash at a national competition where they picked up four trophies.

Groups from the Streetz Ahead dance school, which meets at Waltham Abbey Community Centre in the Crooked Mile, picked up two first place gongs, one award for second place and a prize for third place at the Kent Dance Challenge last Saturday.

Teacher Michelle Hawkes said: “They’ve done ever so well – they just don’t stop. They’re a pleasure to teach.

“The style of dance is based around street dance and one of their routines was a mixture of street dance and musical theatre.

“It’s about having the troupe together.”

The school, which has been going for 10 years, also competed at Disneyland in Paris this month.
