HOMEOWNERS looking to clear out their unwanted or broken electrical items over Christmas are being urged to recycle them.
Essex County Council has today launched the Recycle for Essex campaign to encourage residents not to dump older electrical goods.
Electrical waste, known as WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) can be recycled at recycling banks and centres across Essex.
The council will hold a number of amnesty events across the county throughout January. Anyone who brings along unwanted electricals will also be entered into a prize draw to win an e-reader or digital radio.
