A volunteer-run library is launching a new service to be run by Age UK.
South Chingford Community Library, which began life this time last year after Waltham Forest Council closed the library, will provide a space for Age UK to offer information and help with access to benefits and other issues.
The charity will use the library in Chingford Mount Road as a base every Thursday between 10.30am and 11.30am to offer confidential help by appointment to people aged over 50 needing access to welfare benefits, pension and child tax credits and those requiring long term care.
To book an appointment for the service, starting this Thursday, please call 8558 3404.
The library already offers services helping job seekers, parents and children as well as the elderly.
