Young people who are passionate about fashion are invited to take part in new fashion development workshops.

Aimed at people aged between 9 and 20, up to 15 young East London residents can participate in the project run by East London resident Joanna Marcella.

Joanna said she wants to highlight a new generation of innovative young designers.
She said: “My aim is to support tomorrow’s big fashion names.

“The workshops will encourage young creative talent by offering a platform to showcase their work.

The brief for the project will be to produce a storyboard of designs explaining the vision for the finished design using magazine tears, fabric swatches, old photos, buttons, ribbons and fabric.

The best work produced during the project will be showcased during the Fashion Designers and Craft Makers Young Designer Awards.

No experience is needed but all participants need to demonstrate a passion for design creation.
The project starts on June 9 and workshops, which take place in Dalston, will be free during the first month.
