‘Stonehenge’ is set to be relocated to the Olympic Park to celebrate the one year anniversary of the Games.

The life-size inflatable Stonehenge replica ‘Sacrilege’ toured around the UK during London 2012 and, a year after the start of the Games, it will be part of artwork on show during the Open East Festival.

Bands including The Waterboys and leading artists will also wow crowds with music and street art during the weekend festival on July 27 and 28, while top chefs and street vendors will display their wares in the park.

Visitors can also sample locally brewed ales and witness the Pandemonium Drummers and BMX riders who featured in the opening ceremony before a surprise ‘spectacular finale’ closes each day.

Mayor of London Boris Johnson said: “Last summer London put on the greatest show on earth, culturally as well as in sporting terms, and I am thrilled to see Jeremy Deller's inspired bouncy Stonehenge return to London for the first anniversary celebrations.

“It will add to the fun and magic of this delightful festival, which along with the other events taking place over the next few weeks shows the amazing potential the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park has to become one of our greatest destinations, for visitors and Londoners alike.”

Tickets cost £9.50 for adults, £6 for children aged between five and 16, and are free for those aged under five.
