A community library is doubling its opening days.

The volunteer run Harrow Green Community Library, based at the Epicentre in West Street, Leytonstone, is now open two days a week.

The new opening hours are Thursday from 3pm until 7.30pm and Saturday from 11am until 2pm.
The library has also appointed an honorary president in Vi Gostling MBE.

A library spokesman said: “Harrow Green Community Library is delighted that Ms Gostling has accepted the position and welcomes her invaluable support.”

Additionally, the library now has a website.

As part of this year’s Leytonstone Festival the library is hosting an evening of poem, song and story with local writer, teacher and poet Jane Grell.
