West Ham United 2 Southend Manor 2 (Essex Girls League U12): The visitors started strongly, winning the ball in vital positions and they were rewarded with a goal on 20 minutes. With the Hammers in disarray Southend then netted a shock second goal leaving West Ham with a challenge.
The hosts rose to the occasion and Danielle Roberson immediately responded with a much-needed goal. A tense second half unfolded with end-to-end play.
Faye Cook looked menacing on the wing and Lillie Kershaw was solid, marshalling the defence.
Abbie Simmonds netted the equaliser and could have found her second in the dying minutes, after deftly leaving several Manor players standing and ending up in a prime position in front of goal.
