A woman is to appear in court charged with the murder of an eight-year-old girl at a block of flats in Chadwell Heath.
The woman was arrested at an address in Broomfield Road, shortly after 11.30am on Thursday.
She will appear at Barking Magistrates' Court later today.
The woman was treated at Queen's Hospital in Romford for minor injuries.
Ambulance crews were responding to a report of an injured child.
The death is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police's homicide and major crime command.
