Pond dipping, bug hunting, brass rubbing and bell ringing are just some of the treats lined up for visitors to a woodland festival.

This weekend, people of all ages are invited to enjoy a number of activities and evening entertainment in the centre of Epping Forest.

The annual High Beech Festival is taking place, this Saturday, from 11am.

One of the most unusual visitors, this year, will be the Waltham Abbey Woodcraft Folk who will show families how to make bracelets and use the forest for craft and cookery.

For the duration of the day shows, exhibitions and games will take place at High Beech Green, Epping Forest Field Centre, the forest and High Beech Church.
