A book celebrating the greenery which surrounds a community has been released.
This week, Loughton and its Trees, has been made available in book stores across the district.
Photographs and detailed histories of the town’s trees make up the 100 page publication, written by naturalist Tricia Moxey and edited by Chris Neilan.
In the town, trees are considered to be an important component of Loughton’s life, history and geography, since 14,000 houses are set between forest and meadow and among gardens full of trees.
The book tells the story of the trees of Loughton, sets out the current situation, and then addresses the main challenges faced, to maintain and improve Loughton’s tree cover.
