An open day is being held at Barkingside Police Station on Sunday September 22.
Police are inviting the public to look 'behind the scenes' at the site, in Barkingside High Street, between 10am and 4pm.
Residents will get the chance to talk to senior offices about policing in their neighbourhood, while seeing some of the specialist equipment and resources the Met uses.
There will also be free bicycle security marking and other crime prevention advice on offer.
The event is part of a London-wide publicity push by the force following its shake-up of services this month.
The changes include the closure of Barkingside Police Station on Saturdays and Sundays, so that it will only be open for public access between 7am and 11pm on weekdays.
