A primary school has been told to raise standards following an inspection.
St Augustine’s Catholic Primary, in Cranbrook Road, Gants Hill, has been given a 'requires improvement' rating by Ofsted in a report published this week.
Inspectors said pupils did not achieve well in writing and maths, and said they were not always challenged.
However Ofsted praised improving rates of progress among pupils, the good behaviour at the school and the effective ways in which staff help children's spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
The school was previously rated good by Ofsted in 2011.
