A 47-year-old British man was arrested yesterday as part of an operation to tackle the trafficking and forced labour of polish nationals.

Officers from the Met’s human trafficking unit raided an address in Buckhurst Hill and arrested one man.

A 58-year-old Polish woman and a 42-year-old Polish man were arrested on the M6 motorway in Cumbria.

Properties were also raided in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Walton on Naze, Essex and in the Gdansk region of Poland.

The suspects remain in custody.
