A drama club has received extra funding to produce and perform a show on the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.
Chingford Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society (CADOS) has been given over £3,000 by Waltham Forest Council to produce the show in August.
The society, based at Mornington Hall in The Green Walk, Chingford, is asking people to come forward with their personal stories and acecdotes to help shape the play.
Artistic Director Will Feasey said: "In order to help us create this piece we are looking for people’s personal stories, anecdotes, diary excerpts and letters about the men, women and children who lived through those troubling years.
"We are looking for the soldiers stories and a real cross section across society which shows how the war really affected everybody from the borough."
The show will aim to celebrate the lives and memories of those who experienced the Great War and give a glimpse into the drama, tragedy and even the comedy which occured during wartime.
