A popular coffee business which was threatened with closure due to the planned extension of Walthamstow Central station appears to have been saved after MP Stella Creasy intervened.
Alessandro Pinna has been running the Madre Tierra kiosk for four years, but says he was recently told he would have to move when the station is expanded.
A petition launched by customer Catherine Marcus attracted 550 signatures and now Ms Creasy's intervention looks to have saved the business.
In a post published on Facebook, she wrote: "I have spoken with Council business support team and they have been liaising with Alessandro Pinna and Madre Tierra isn't going anywhere....they have also offered to help link him in to the business support teams work too....#sorted".
Council leader Chris Robbins has said Madre Tierra is being helped to find an 'amicable' agreement with land owners Network Rail and development company Solum.
