The Metropolitan Police Service launched a campaign across Waltham Forest yesterday to increase confidence in crime solving in the borough.
For the next two weeks officers will be advertising what they are doing in each area using posters and social networking sites.
A spokesman said: "It aims to communicate actions local police have taken to cut crime or help solve problems locally, using a mixture of borough wide, ward wide and street level messages."
