Children from Davies Lane Primary School took part in a spring cleaning weekend today, doing their bit to pick up rubbish on Wanstead Flats.
This weekend Waltham Forest residents are urged to spend some time giving their area a spring clean.
Litter picking, planting bulbs, graffiti removal and street furniture painting are some of the activities organised by the council for Saturday and Sunday.
Last year over 3,000 people collected more than 20 tonnes of waste and 2,000 plants and bulbs were planted.
