Superheroes lined the streets as families gathered for the annual Debden Day celebrations on Saturday.
The 14th celebration of the town and its residents kicked off with live music, horse and carriage rides, bouncy castles and a tea party for the older festival-goers.
A choir from Willingale Primary School entertained gathering crowds and aspiring stage stars from the E17 Acting School showed off their talent.
Local businesses in The Broadway took advantage of the chance to sell England memorabilia ahead of the evening clash with Italy.
Debden Day’s former organiser Dave Stannard passed away last month after a long battle with cancer on his 70th birthday.
The event is the longest running of all the festivals in Epping Forest.
