A group of Beavers has raised hundreds of pounds for the restoration of a church clock.
3rd Waltham Abbey Beavers raised £614.50 for the town’s church clock which stopped in December.
The clock fund was chosen because the group regularly visits the church in Highbridge Street.
While raising funds for the church the beavers worked towards their Challenge badge and also their Hikes Away badge.
Waltham Abbey Town Council also contributed to the restoration of the clock with a grant of £1,000 which was matched by a donation from the town’s mayor, Ann Mitchell MBE from her charitable fund.
The current total contributed towards the repair of the clock is £4,030.70 and the estimated repair bill is £15,000.
