A cyclist will attempt to ride 100 miles for a charity tackling poverty.
Mark Mills, 54, of Marjorams Avenue, Loughton, will take part in The Prudential RideLondon- Surrey event, which starts in the Olympic Park in Stratford and ends in Surrey on Sunday.
He is raising money for the Catholic Aid and Development Agency of England and Wales, which fund employment schemes.
Mr Mills, who has already raised almost £1000 for the charity, said: "I chose CAFOD as my charity as I believe they do extraordinary work overseas to provide help and to assist parts of the world that we who have privileges such as running water, wouldn't necessarily think of."
