After reading Diane Hallsworth’s letter about Chingford Mount Cemetery (Guardian, July 31), I had to laugh.
I was under the impression that Chingford cemetery was always taken care of.
If she had said Queens Road cemetery (in Walthamstow), that I could understand.
She should give her eyes a treat and take a look over there. It’s an absolute disgrace.
About once a year – if that – they put weed killer down. And to think my poor mum and dad are laying over there.
I live in the borough of Haver-ing and Waltham Forest should
take a page out of their book and bring the graveyards up to standard. Then we can all rest in peace.
J Fillery,
Romford.
