A public inquiry will today consider an appeal against an enforcement notice issued to the owner of a travellers' site, calling on him to open up the land for leisure use.
William Doherty, who moved to Roydon Lodge Chalet Estate in High Street, Roydon, in 2008, was served the order in February due to a condition on the land.
Mr Doherty has recieved four enforcement notices from Epping Forest District Council over six years, only one, which ordered the removal of concrete and sheds, was upheld.
Of the previous two, one was withdrawn by the council over issues relating to potential flooding and the other was rejected due to problems with the accuracy of the order document.
An inquiry regarding the forth enforcement notice will be held today and tomorrow by an inspector appointed by the government in the council chamber at Epping Forest District Council’s offices in High Street, Epping.
