Libraries in Waltham Forest will lead the way during black history month bringing tales from around the world to the borough.
Throughout October stories, superheroes and even comedians will be used to tell the stories of people from Africa and the Caribbean.
A storytelling will start the activities at Walthamstow Library on October 4.
Children of all ages will be told Anansi and Krik Krak stories, each concluding with a moral.
On October 8 at Hale End Library Sue Gibbons will be giving a talk on Presenting Your Family History.
On October 10 the black history comedy night is set to entertain the crowds at Walthamstow Assembly Hall.
A play will be performed at Leytonstone Library on October 11 called Losing Sight of Home by Paula David.
The story is based on real accounts of British Caribbean people from the 1960s interviewed over a period of several months.
Admission is free, with performances at 2.45pm and 6.30pm.
