Dear Waltham Forest traffic team, you can refer to roads as ‘rat runs’ and any other anti-social name to make your ill thought out scheme sound better.

I call it people going about their daily activities, to businesses or social visits in and around the Walthamstow area.

These are a series of roads that have worked very well for many years for all the residents, and which should be put back into use once this madness of a plan with the very poor sounding name mini-Holland is scrapped.

I know, because I have lived in Holland, that the Dutch would take great offence using their wonderful country’s name for such a brainless scheme of inconvenience for all us residents.

It says in your email: “We appreciate that the trial is causing disruption for residents and value everyone’s patience.”

You have admitted that it is there to cause disruption.

Please have the sense to throw this scheme where it belongs, in the proverbial dustbin, and go back to the sensible road layout that was there before you were lucky enough to get your jobs, and has worked for the last 40 years.

Here’s a new cockney slogan for you: “If it ain't broke, don't fix it.”
