An accountant completed a 50km marathon despite just recovering from the winter vomiting bug.
Jon O’Shea, 45, a partner at Haslers Chartered Accountants in Loughton, completed the course in London on Sunday as part of his intense training regime to complete seven marathons, in seven days, in seven countries.
Mr O'Shea had spent two days in bed and did not eat after contracting Norovirus, which causes repeated projectile vomiting.
He will attempt the seven marathons in January in a bid to raise £50,000 for charity after losing colleagues, chairman Martin Anderson, 57, and Charlotte James, 22, to cancer.
He will donate the funds between charities St Clare Hospice and Teenage Cancer Trust, as well as local charities and causes that the Haslers Foundation have supported over the years.
