Firefighters spent more than an hour tackling a canal boat blaze at a luxury marina.
Crews were called to Roydon Marina Village at 1am this morning.
The 15-metre narrow boat was said to be 'heavily smoke logged' on arrival.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used a one hose reel to deal with the blaze.
The fire was extinguished at around 2:15am.
Reports suggest there was no one on the boat at the time of the blaze and an ambulance was not called to the scene.
Roydon Marina Village is an exclusive holiday resort that can hold over 300 private boats, located on the River Stort.
It is currently undergoing a £10 million development.
Essex Fire Brigade has launched an investigation.
