Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision which left a cyclist in critical condition.
Officers and paramedics from London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance were called to the scene in Lea Bridge Road, at the junction with Orient Way, in Leyton, at around 1.40pm on Tuesday following reports of a 55-year-old man on a bike colliding with a transit.
Paramedics treated the cyclist for head and chest injuries at the scene for over an hour before he was taken to the Royal London hospital in Whitechapel with a doctor on board from the air ambulance.
He remains in a critical condition.
The van stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made.
The collision is now being investigated by officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
