A plea date has been set for a man accused of manslaughter almost five years on since David Joslin's death.
The 23-year-old 'peacemaker' died after being knocked unconscious by a single punch in Old Church Road, Chingford, on December 19 2009.
Michael Oliver, 33, of Poundfield Road, Loughton, was summonsed by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to appear at Barkingside Magistrates Court on November 10 where he was released on bail for an appearance at the Old Bailey yesterday.
He is due to enter a plea at the Old Bailey on February 10 2015.
The CPS announced last month that Mr Oliver had not been formally charged, but is accused of the crime.
Mr Joslin, who was out on a Christmas work event, was treated at Whipps Cross Hospital before being taken to the National Hospital for Neurology, in central London, where he died eight days later.
An inquest into Mr Joslin's death in March 2013 revealed failings by Whipps Cross University Hospital in Leytonstone, which initially wrongly treated Mr Joslin as a drunk.
