A man was killed at Leyton Tube station today after being hit by a train.
A British Transport Police spokesman said they are working to trace the man's family.
He said: “Our officers were called to Leyton London Underground station shortly before 11am after reports a person had been struck by a train.
“Colleagues from London Ambulance Service also attended, but a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“We are trying to identify the man, whose death is not being treated as suspicious, and will inform his family.
“Officers will prepare a file for the coroner.”
There are currently no trains between Liverpool Street and Woodford and Newbury Park, and severe delays on the rest of the Central Line.
