A court date has been set for a 43-year-old accused of murdering a man in a restaurant to enter a plea.

Hysni Avdyli, 43, of Greenleaf Road, Walthamstow, was arrested on April 17 and charged the following day with the murder of 34-year-old Asim Marku.

Mr Marku was found stabbed to death at the Dolce Vita bar and restaurant in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, at 9.50pm on April 16.

Witnesses described seeing a large brawl in the street before Mr Marku was fatally wounded.

Detectives are still appealing for information and have leafleted homes in the area.

They believe the 34-year-old's death could be connected to an earlier altercation at Rio's Cafe in Hoe Street, Walthamstow, at approximately 6pm.
