The next first citizen of Redbridge is set to be officially sworn in next week.
Labour councillor Barbara White will take over as Mayor of Redbridge for 2015/16 from Conservative councillor Ashley Kissin at the full council meeting next Thursday evening at Redbridge town hall, in Ilford.
A Goodmayes councillor since 2010, Cllr White was announced as Cllr Kissin’s replacement in January without a ballot because she was the only nomination.
She was nominated on a cross-party basis by the current leader of Labour's Redbridge council, Cllr Jas Athwal, and Conservative councillor Keith Prince.
Cllr White has yet to announce her chosen charity.
Current Mayor Cllr Ashley Kissin and deputy Cllr Linda Huggett.
