A gardening competition will urge people to take pride in Leytonstone neighbourhoods.
Trustees of South Leytonstone Area Development Association (SLADA) are organising a Front Garden Competition with £250 as a first prize.
All front gardens in Cann Hall and Cathall estate are eligible with pots, plants, planters, hanging baskets and balconies all included.
There will be a special prize for the tallest sun flower grown by a child.
The first garden inspections begin on June 8 with a top twenty to be shortlisted by June 22.
The winners of the cash prize will be announced on the week commencing July 13.
Rupert Alexander, one of the SLADA trustees organising the competition. said: “The purpose of this venture is to promote an attractive environment and to encourage all of us to take pride in our neighbourhoods.”
