Police have appealed for information on the whereabouts of a man wanted in connection with the theft of a delivery van and £10,000 worth of parcels.

Mihaita Stefan, 33, was reported missing on May 5 when he failed to return to a depot in Chelmsford after making deliveries around Essex.

He last made contact with the company he was working for at about midday and said he was travelling to Chelmsford from Southend.

The van was later seen at a service station at Brook Street, Brentwood.

Police now want to speak to Mr Stefan in connection with the theft of the van, a white unmarked Mercedes Sprinter with the index number NJ11BCK, and also the theft of packages with an estimated value of about £10,000.

Mr Stefan is white, has dark hair and a beard and when last seen he was wearing dark-coloured trousers, a blue T-shirt and a fluorescent jacket.

His last know home address was in Leyton.

Police said extensive enquiries have been carried out to find Mr Stefan, the van and parcels but there has been no trace.
