A flower festival was held this week as part of a series of events to mark the 150th anniversary of a church’s founding.
The festival which involved 18 arrangements by local groups and societies was held from Saturday to Tuesday at Wanstead United Reformed Church, in Nightingale Lane.
An exhibition entitled ‘The Founding of a Church: The First Fifty Years’ is also being held at the church exploring the story of 30 lives of Wanstead residents in that era.
People can view it until this Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
Then a celebration service will take place at 10.30am on Sunday.
It is free admission to all events with a café serving light refreshments.
