An annual golfing event has raised a total of £740 for the Royal British Legion.
The district council Chairman’s Charity Golf Day was held last Tuesday (July 21) at Chigwell Golf Club.
Chairman Liz Webster hit the opening tee shot at the event, which saw 26 councillors, officers, former employees, contractors and guests play.
Housing resources manager David Clifton won the Don Spinks Shield for the third time and was named champion, with the Robert O’Malley Cup for Lady Golfers won by Annette Stansfield for the fourth time in five years.
Cllr. Webster said: “Thank you to everyone who took to the fairways in the glorious summer sunshine to raise money for the Royal British Legion, we had a great day.
“This money is very important as it helps to provide practical, emotional and financial support to all members of the British Armed Forces, both past and present.”
