A thief has been jailed for stealing a crate of cider.
Patrick Blanche will serve eight weeks behind bars for taking the £14 item from Tesco in Highams Park on September 7.
Blanche of Bateman Road has a history of theft prompting the judge at Thames Magistrates Court to impose a harsh sentence on September 29.
He was also fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 court costs after admitting the offence in a previous court hearing.
The 32-year-old was subject to a conditional discharge at the time of the court case for failing to surrender.
He admitted the breach and was sentenced to a further four weeks in prison.
For this he was fined a further £150.
The time Blanche has already spent in custody will be taken off his 12 week sentence.
