Another HSBC branch is set to close early next year, with the bank again blaming a ‘significant fall’ in use.
The self-service branch in Epping High Street will close on February 5.
The day after, the HSBC in Highbridge Street, Waltham Abbey, will also close.
A spokesman for the bank said no job losses are expected in either town, with only one full-time and three part-time staff members at the Epping branch, which does not have a counter service.
The bank is working to find new positions for staff members, he added, and said that customers should use the Post Office in Epping or travel to Loughton.
An increase in online and telephone banking was blamed for a drop in use of the Epping branch, leading to the closure.
The spokesman said there are currently no plans to close any more branches in Epping Forest.
