A man has appeared in court charged with stealing almost £1,000 worth of Lego from a Toys R Us store .

Yousef Lamjida, 27, of Grisley Close, Walthamstow, is charged over two separate counts of theft from the shop in Colliers Wood High Street.

Mr Lamjida is charged over stealing 31 Lego toys to the value of £488.69 from the Toys R Us on October 8 last year.

He is accused of returning to the same shop on November 11, 2015, and stealing a further 30 Lego toys to the value of £473.76.

Mr Lamjida appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Friday (February 12).

He will return to the same court on February 26 to enter a plea.
