Parents looking for a golden moment this summer can join a family run in the Olympic Park.

Taking place on Sunday, July 17, contestants will finish the 2km race inside the stadium made famous by 2012 heroes Jessica Ennis and Mo Farah.

The Family Run will follow the 10km Great Newham London Run with both races finishing on a brand new track being laid in the stadium.

Olympic medallist Brendan Foster CBE is chairman of the Great Run Company, which is organising the event.

He said: “Parents are great role models for their children, and what better way to enjoy being active together than by sharing this Golden Moment.

“It is great for the sport that families are among the first to run in the Stadium where Mo Farah, Jess Ennis-Hill and Usain Bolt made history, just a few weeks before the Rio 2016 Games get underway.”

Children between five and 18 will run together with their parents as family and friends cheer from the stands.

Now in its seventh year the 10km run is expecting 15,000 runners with 5,000 taking part in the family event.

To avoid disappointment families are urged to sign up early www.greatrun.org/great-newham-london-run/great-newham-london-family-run.
