A widely respected late councillor and a much-loved community pub are set to be honoured by giving their names to two new council flat blocks.
Labour councillor Joan Davis, who passed away in 2014, represented Loughton Broadway for 27 years and will be remembered in Davis Court, the proposed name for a new block in Burton Road.
The former Sir Winston Churchill pub, which was demolished in The Broadway, Debden, was popular with the community and many called for it to be kept.
After making way for the new development, it will give its name to Churchill Court.
The names were suggested by Loughton Town Council and will be passed to Epping Forest District Council for consultation ahead of a formal decision.
