A Waltham Forest campaign group will ask residents what they believe new London mayor Sadiq Khan can do for women at a meeting next week.
The Waltham Forest Women’s Network (WFWN) is set to stage its Annual General Meeting at Waltham Forest Town Hall on Thursday, June 2 at 6.30pm.
The meeting will feature a guest panel including Cllr Saima Mahmud, the former Mayor of Waltham Forest, Linda Taaffe, Waltham Forest Housing Action and Arifa Nazim, from Educate 2 Eradicate.
The panel will discuss recent changes in the borough and their impact on women. Issues raised will be sent to the Mayor of London.
Nadia Baksh, Chair of WFWN said “We want to provide this opportunity to local women to bring their messages to the new Mayor of London.
“WFWN will pass these on to the Mayor’s office and request a reply.”
New members of the network are welcome to attend the AGM. For tickets, visit: eventbrite.co.uk/e/wfwn-agm-tickets-25417995910.
